The Medical Fitness Difference

The goals of a medical fitness program are to diagnose, treat, rehabilitate, and prevent chronic conditions and lifestyle diseases related to physical inactivity.  There is a growing mountain of evidence that states physical activity is key to the prevention and treatment of disease, illness, and injury; slowing the progression of chronic disease; aiding in the recovery from illness or injury; and building strength and endurance for healthier aging.

LifeStyles has a qualified staff of degreed and credentialed exercise specialists, licensed certified athletic trainers, and wellness experts who are trained to provide the medical fitness difference. The medical fitness difference also includes clinical integration with other Valley programs and services, hospital-level cleanliness, specialized wellness programs that promote a healthy lifestyle, and customer service and experience.

LifeStyles provides a continuum of care for its members and patients, including improved outcomes for those with chronic diseases and multiple risk factors; staff members who provide medical oversight of fitness programming; programs and services that meets the needs of an aging population, families, and special needs groups; and a personal approach to exercise assessment and exercise perception,” said Don Tomaszewski, Director of Medical Fitness for The Valley Center for Health and Wellness.
