LifeStyles, located within The Valley Center for Health and Wellness at 1400 MacArthur Boulevard in Mahwah, New Jersey, is a medically supervised fitness center that focuses on the prevention and treatment of disease, illness, and injury through regular participation in physical activity, disease management, and health education.
The center features state-of-the-art fitness equipment; a six-lane lap pool, warm-water therapy pool, and whirlpool; full-service locker rooms equipped with showers, saunas, and steam rooms; a running and walking track; a rock-climbing wall; a basketball court; and pickleball court. Services available include group exercise classes, personal training, performance assessments, Pilates reformer, and swim lessons.
The Medical Fitness Difference
The goals of a medical fitness program are to diagnose, treat, rehabilitate, and prevent chronic conditions and lifestyle diseases related to physical inactivity. There is a growing mountain of evidence that states physical activity is key to the prevention and treatment of disease, illness, and injury; slowing the progression of chronic disease; aiding in the recovery from illness or injury; and building strength and endurance for healthier aging.
LifeStyles has a qualified staff of degreed and credentialed exercise specialists, licensed certified athletic trainers, and wellness experts who are trained to provide the medical fitness difference. The medical fitness difference also includes clinical integration with other Valley programs and services, hospital-level cleanliness, specialized wellness programs that promote a healthy lifestyle, and customer service and experience.

Medical fitness programs available to LifeStyles members, include aquatic exercise classes for arthritis; human performance testing, such as resting metabolic rate tests, aerobic capacity (VO2 Max) tests, and functional movement screening; Parkinson’s exercise program; prenatal and baby and me yoga; and youth programming, among others.
