Rapid Relief Team to serve thousands at “St. Jude Walks” and “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” events this Fall

The Rapid Relief Team (RRT), the charitable arm of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church, is continuing its support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Alzheimer’s Association through a series of charitable events this Fall.

As part of their continued partnership, RRT volunteers will provide complimentary snacks, refreshments, and service to participants at six St. Jude Walk events and four Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s occasions across the U.S.

The St. Jude Walk events are part of a nationwide effort to raise funds and awareness for the lifesaving mission of St. Jude: Finding cures and saving children. RRT teams will be stationed at event sites to serve participants with snacks, hydration, and logistical support.

The RRT will be supporting six St. Jude Walks across the U.S. including one at Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange. Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.

The RRT will be attending four walks this year..

“Our volunteers are honored to support the missions of St. Jude and the Alzheimer’s Association by serving those walking, running, and fundraising for a future free from these terrible illnesses,” said Wes McDonald, RRT NA operations manager. “It’s our way of saying we’re with you, and we believe in what the amazing folks at these organizations are doing.”

RRT is a global network of more than 16,500 volunteers who assist emergency services during disasters and crises by providing meals and other forms of support. It was established in 2013 by the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church.
