Rowan University on Sept. 19 will launch “Forging Forward,” a campaign focused on raising more than $240 million to support students, innovation and impact throughout the region. The event will start at 10:30 a.m. at the Chamberlain Student Center on Rowan’s main campus in Glassboro.
Rowan University’s Forging Forward campaign is focused on boosting investment in three areas: Enhancing the student experience and success such as through scholarships, wellness initiatives, and career pathways to ensure every student thrives; catalyzing research and innovation; and building the University of the Future, which includes transforming Rowan’s West Campus.
Rowan President Ali Houshmand and other leaders will make brief comments about the campaign and what it will mean to students and the region.
The campaign has already drawn major private funding including $85 million from Virtua Health, a Rowan health care partner, and most recently $25 million from alumni Ric and Jean Edelman to support the Edelman Fossil Park & Museum in Mantua Township.
Rowan, one of the fastest-growing public universities in the country, is launching this campaign as it builds on years of growth and expansion, including the doubling of students to nearly 25,000 and reaching record enrollment this semester.
Rowan this fall opened the Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine, the first veterinary school in the state, and it became just the second university in the nation to offer doctor of medicine, doctor of osteopathic medicine, and doctor of veterinary medicine medical programs.
