Newark’s The Ballantine now more than 50% leased

Shorewood Real Estate Group announced that over 50% of the 280 residences at The Ballantine, the new luxury apartment community on the former Ballantine Brewery site in Newark’s historic Ironbound neighborhood, have been leased.

Shorewood’s development team recently launched a complimentary shuttle to Newark Penn Station, providing residents with convenient access to Manhattan and the broader New Jersey and regional rail network.

The Ballantine, which debuted earlier this year at 80 Freeman Street, offers a mix of well-appointed studios to two-bedroom residences, modern amenities and 2,600 square feet of retail space.

“The Ballantine brings modern urban living to the northern edge of Newark’s Ironbound, a neighborhood full of energy and character,” said Larry Davis, CEO of Shorewood Real Estate Group, which partnered with Bridge Investment Group on the project. “Residents can enjoy the Ironbound’s renowned Portuguese, Brazilian and Spanish restaurants, local bakeries, cultural festivals and more. With the new shuttle to Newark Penn Station, commuting to New York City is even more convenient, and we’re excited so many people are choosing to make this contemporary building their home.”

Designed by Minno & Wasko Architects and Planners, and with landscaping by Melillo Bauer Carman, The Ballantine features thoughtfully designed apartments with premium finishes, including 9-foot ceilings, luxury plank flooring, custom closets, in-home washers and dryers, and smart lock systems.

Kitchens include stainless-steel appliances, Silestone countertops, full-height tiled backsplashes and soft-close cabinetry. Bathrooms feature porcelain tile floors, Silestone vanity countertops and full-height ceramic tiled walls. Select residences also offer private patios or terraces.

The indoor and outdoor amenities include concierge services, a rooftop deck with lounge seating and New York City views, and a courtyard with BBQs and dining spaces. Additional highlights include a fitness center, yoga studio, game room with multisport simulator, co-working areas, resident lounge, pet spa, bike storage and onsite parking with EV charging stations.
