DLA, LLC appoints Shinn as partner of Private Equity vertical

DLA, LLC, a leading provider of accounting, risk advisory and financial consulting services, announced Oct. 27 the appointment of Andrew “Andy” Shinn as partner within its Private Equity vertical.

Reporting to Jim Hines, head of the Private Equity vertical, Shinn will play a key leadership role in expanding DLA’s offerings for private equity clients and their portfolio companies — integrating the firm’s accounting outsourcing and internal audit expertise to deliver comprehensive transactions and operational support.

“DLA’s entrepreneurial culture and client-centered approach create an incredible platform to serve private equity clients in a more holistic way,” said Shinn. “I’m excited to join Jim and the team in driving continued growth and impact across this vertical.”

Shinn brings over 25 years of experience in private equity, strategic finance and operational leadership, guiding companies through critical transformation and growth stages across global markets. His career spans sourcing and executing leveraged buyouts and public equity investments, leading operational turnarounds and implementing strategic growth initiatives as both an investor and operator.

Before joining DLA, Shinn served as CFO/COO of Freehold Healthcare, where he oversaw restructuring, business development and long-term growth initiatives. He previously held leadership roles, including president and CFO of Ursa Major Technologies, where he raised $120 million in Series D funding and repositioned the company’s strategy.

Additionally, as a partner at PAG, Asia’s largest private equity firm, he launched the Korea market and executed its first leveraged buyout. Earlier in his career, Shinn held senior positions at The Carlyle Group, Morgan Stanley Capital Partners and FRC Capital, leading complex investments and operational integrations across multiple industries.

He holds a B.S. in finance from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

In his new role, Shinn will help advance DLA’s private equity advisory services, working alongside Hines to strengthen the firm’s ability to support private equity firms and their portfolio companies with pre-acquisition due diligence, post-acquisition integration, operational improvement and governance optimization.

“Andy’s extensive experience across investment, operations and transformation makes him an invaluable addition to DLA,” said David Landau, founder and CEO of DLA, LLC. “His leadership and strategic insight will be instrumental as we continue to expand our private equity capabilities and deliver meaningful results for our clients.”
