Middletown Veterans Housing development celebrates completion

Middletown Township hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony Nov. 2 to celebrate the completion of a new, 22,000-square-foot veterans housing facility designed by DMR Architects.

Located in Campbell’s Junction, the newly completed Middletown Veterans Housing development offers 12 residential units for eligible veterans, providing affordable housing for one of New Jersey’s largest veteran populations.

Middletown Mayor Tony Perry, Middletown Committee members and officials, representatives from DMR Architects, members of the project committee and community members were among the attendees.

In addition to private living spaces, the facility includes communal features that include:

  • Activity rooms and lounges with televisions
  • Pool and game tables
  • A front porch designed for relaxation and socializing
  • Patriotic design elements such as American, MIA and KIA flagpoles
  • A stone memorial at the entrance to honor fallen heroes

These features were coordinated in close collaboration with Middletown’s Veterans Affairs Committee, which supports a wide range of veteran-centered programs throughout the Township.

“The Township Committee and I are very proud to see this project come to fruition after years of hard work, partnership and dedication,” said Mayor Perry. “Our veterans have given their all to grant us the freedoms we have today. This affordable housing complex is just a small token of our everlasting appreciation for their bravery and sacrifices.”

The facility replaces a long-vacant property with a vibrant, community-serving development in a growing commercial corridor. Situated near transportation hubs and local businesses, the project also supports the area’s broader revitalization efforts.

“We are honored to support Middletown’s commitment to its veterans through a design that prioritizes comfort, connection and quality,” said Pradeep Kapoor, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, president and CEO of DMR Architects. “Our focus was to deliver a thoughtfully planned facility that balances function, quality of life and community integration for our veterans.”
