Kearny-based Schuyler Savings Bank has announced the appointment of longtime New Jersey-based commercial lending executive Bruce Kelly to the position of vice president, Commercial Lending.

Kelly has focused on commercial lending origination, sales and service for more than 22 years, with an enviable track record of building value at financial institutions ranging from small commercial banks and savings banks to larger, publicly traded commercial banks and credit unions.

His extensive commercial lending background includes experience with Valley Bank, Hilltop Community Bank, Affinity Federal Credit Union and Blue Foundry Bank (formerly Boiling Springs Bank).

He also has a wide array of experience with financial institutions such as Vista Mortgage Corp (Fairfax, VA) and Valley National Bank, Fleet Bank/Summit Bank and Sovereign Bank, all in New Jersey.

“We’ve enjoyed a lengthy and highly successful journey in commercial lending,” said George Halski, president and CEO of Schuyler Savings Bank. “With Bruce Kelly now aboard, the bank is excited to be well-positioned for continued growth and expansion in the state’s robust commercial lending sector.”

Kelly graduated from Gettysburg College with a B.A. in philosophy and an accounting minor, and he has earned an Internetworking Certificate from PC Age, Parsippany. He carries a New Jersey Property & Casualty Insurance License and is NMLS #401800.

“Building long-lasting and loyal member/client relationships is the key to commercial lending success,” said Kelly of his philosophy.
