Spencer Savings Bank, a leading New Jersey-based community bank, has donated $40,000 to Bergen Volunteer Medical Initiative (BVMI) to help fund the expansion of its new location in Garfield.
BVMI provides hope and healing to uninsured adults in Bergen County by delivering free, high-quality health care to the uninsured, helping them live healthy, productive lives. The new Garfield location is expected to open in late 2025.
Spencer Savings Bank’s Chairman, President and CEO Jose Guerrero, along with additional bank leaders, visited the organization to meet with the BVMI team, take a tour and present the donation. The Spencer team also attended BVMI’s ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new facility along with BVMI leadership, local officials and community partners.
“At Spencer, we are deeply committed to improving the well-being of the communities we serve,” said Guerrero. “We are honored to support BVMI in expanding access to quality health care for working adults who need it most. This partnership aligns with our mission to make a lasting, positive impact in our neighborhoods.”
“Community partnerships are essential to our mission, and we are grateful to Spencer Savings Bank for their support of BVMI, our new Garfield clinic, and look forward to working together with the goal of creating healthier communities,” said Amanda Missey, president and CEO, BVMI.
