Delta Dental of New Jersey & Connecticut appoints Gemus and Di Maio to board of trustees

Delta Dental of New Jersey Inc., based in Parsippany, said James Gemus and Paul J. Di Maio were appointed to its board of trustees, effective Jan. 1.

Gemus and Di Maio will fill board vacancies created by the retirements of longtime trustees William Faulkner and Morton Reinhart.

“Jim and Paul bring complementary strengths that will immediately enhance our board’s mission and support the long-term success of the organization,” said Dr. Ronald I. Deblinger, chair, Delta Dental of New Jersey Board of Trustees.

Gemus brings to his board role experience as CEO and founder of Chicago-based Eagle View Advisors, an employee benefits and leadership/business management consulting firm. Gemus has also held senior leadership roles at Prudential’s Group Insurance business, spanning product, distribution, and business segments, as well as MetLife’s eBusiness/digital, voluntary benefits, and strategy/technology governance/reengineering across all MetLife businesses.

He has also served on multiple boards of directors, including Texas Life (chairman), MetLife Auto & Home, Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore USO, and American Benefits Council. Gemus serves on the advisory boards of fintech and insurtech companies that leverage AI to enhance performance across the insurance industry.

Delta Dental of New Jersey’s Board of Trustees is composed of 10 members, which will now also include Delta Dental’s president and CEO, Paul Di Maio.

“Joining the board allows us to more tightly align our daily operations with our long-term strategic vision,” said Di Maio. “My focus is on ensuring that as we grow our market presence in New Jersey and Connecticut, we are equally focused on expanding our philanthropic reach. We aren’t just a benefits provider; we are a vital part of the public health infrastructure, and I look forward to furthering our work to ensure our business goals and community impact remain deeply intertwined.”
