Cozen O’Connor Public Strategies, a Washington, D.C.-based government relations and communications affiliate of international law firm Cozen O’Connor, said Jan. 8 it added Braxton Plummer as principal in its Cherry Hill office.
Plummer has experience in local, state and federal government affairs, public policy and political strategy. In his new role, Plummer will support the firm’s growing New Jersey practice and strengthen its ability to serve clients across the region.
“Braxton is a seasoned professional with strong relationships across New Jersey’s political and business communities,” said Howard Schweitzer, CEO of Cozen O’Connor Public Strategies. “His experience and strategic perspective will strengthen our team and help us deliver exceptional results for our clients.”
Plummer most recently served as director of state and local government affairs at the telecom Verizon, where he developed and implemented multi-state political strategies and managed relationships with policymakers and influencers. Previously, he served as senior adviser to the commissioner at the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, focusing on economic and social revitalization efforts in Atlantic City.
His background also includes roles with the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, the Office of Governor Jon Corzine, and senior positions on statewide political campaigns.
