Pharma company Tonix opening HQ in Berkeley Heights

Tonix Pharmaceuticals has established its new corporate headquarters in Berkeley Heights, marking a long-term investment as a fully integrated, commercial-stage biotechnology company. The company was formerly located in Chatham, according to its website.

The announcement follows the FDA approval of TONMYA, the first new treatment for fibromyalgia in more than 15 years. The approval validates the innovative science at Tonix which the team is leveraging to investigate treatments for other diseases.

According to the National Fibromyalgia Association, fibromyalgia is a chronic disorder of unknown origin characterized by pain, stiffness and tenderness in the muscles of neck, shoulders, back, hips, arms and legs. Other signs and symptoms include headaches, fatigue, sleep disturbances and painful menstruation. Fibromyalgia affects about 10 million people in the U.S., with women accounting for 75% to 90% of diagnosed cases. The condition is one of the leading causes of work disability in developed countries.

Tonix will mark the opening of the new headquarters on Jan. 30 with company leadership, employees and regional stakeholders. Rep. Tom Kean Jr. will attend as a guest of honor, alongside other local and federal officials, reflecting the site’s broader economic and life sciences significance in New Jersey and beyond.

The Berkeley Heights location places Tonix within New Jersey’s expanding life sciences corridor in Central New Jersey, offering access to biotech talent, proximity to pharmaceutical partners and academic institutions, and access to the Wall Street community.

“This headquarters reflects years of dedication by our team and a shared belief that patients deserve better options,” said Dr. Seth Lederman, chief executive officer of Tonix Pharmaceuticals. “Establishing a new home in Berkeley Heights reinforces our commitment to innovating and expanding in the ‘medicine chest of the world’ where there is a long history of producing breakthroughs for patients.”
