Connell Foley LLP said Feb. 12 that Abbey True Harris has joined the firm as a partner in its regulatory affairs and compliance group.
Harris will leverage her law firm, government, and private industry experience to support clients across regulatory, legislative, and governmental processes, including providing counsel on complex litigation and appellate law.
In addition to her legal practice, she will direct a firmwide community engagement program to amplify Connell Foley’s commitment to pro bono services.
“Abbey’s unique track record spanning corporate, non-profit, government, and public service makes her an exceptional addition to Connell Foley,” said Managing Partner Timothy Corriston. “Her decades of diverse legal practice, regulatory affairs, and public policy experience will have an immediate impact for our clients.”
Harris’ high-level government service includes serving as chief counsel of the New Jersey Senate Majority Office, where she provided guidance on legislative matters and policy initiatives affecting state residents.
In the private sector, Harris most recently worked as chief legal officer and senior vice president of external affairs at Reciprocal Management Corp. Previously, as director of legal affairs and complex litigation at NJ Physicians United Reciprocal Exchange, she oversaw complex litigation, and executed health care-related legislative, amicus, and reform initiatives. Harris has experience in highly regulated industries such as affordable housing, insurance, health care and long-term care.
“Connell Foley’s legal talent, political acumen and impressive growth make it the perfect environment to provide the highest levels of legal counsel for a range of clients and to launch important new community-based initiatives,” said Harris.
