Machemer leaves Rockefeller Group to lead Crow Holdings Industrial’s new N.J. office

Crow Holdings Industrial has opened a New Jersey office and hired well-known real estate executive Clark Machemer to run it, the Dallas-based company announced Monday.

Machemer, who had been with Rockefeller Group, will now be senior managing director in charge of CHI’s New Jersey office, part of the company’s national platform build-out. In his new role, he will be responsible for establishing and growing CHI’s presence in the Northeast industrial market, primarily sourcing and executing on new, ground-up development opportunities, the company said in a news release.

“I am tremendously excited to join Crow Holdings Industrial and to have the opportunity to build upon its incredible growth over the past few years,” Machemer said in a prepared statement. “The Crow Holdings legacy is rooted in industrial development, and no firm has had a greater impact on real estate across the U.S.

“CHI’s local expertise allows it to identify sites in strong distribution submarkets that offer tenants easy access to major roadways, rail and airfreight infrastructure. I am honored to join such as accomplished team and to lead our efforts in the Northeast.”

Machemer has more than 20 years of development experience, most recently serving as senior vice president with Rockefeller Group, as well as regional development officer for New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He was listed in the inaugural ROI Influencers Real Estate list, among other honors.

“We are delighted to welcome Clark and to complete CHI’s national footprint,” Ken Valach, CHI’s CEO, said in a statement. “With six offices in strategic markets across the U.S., CHI now covers 50 percent of the U.S. industrial market in terms of net absorption. … Clark’s deep experience and relationships in the region will allow him to quickly build CHI’s presence in the Northeast and round out the company’s national reach and access.”

CHI develops warehouse, distribution and fulfillment properties in key logistics markets nationwide. It is a division of Crow Holdings, a real estate investment, development and ownership company.
