Amazon announced on Tuesday its new delivery station in Logan Township will open for business this week.
The 368,000-square-foot station at 2320 Center Square Road will create more than 180 full- and part-time associate positions all paying at least $15 per hour, in addition to hundreds of driver opportunities for Amazon’s Delivery Service Partners and Amazon Flex drivers.
“This new project demonstrates the ongoing contributions Amazon is making to Logan Township, which go beyond the immediate economic impact we will see with the opening of this new facility. For example, they also participate in our Logan Township Food Assistance Program, an initiative that has been crucial to our residents, especially now as we combat the COVID-19 pandemic. We are excited to continue growing the relationship between Amazon and Logan Township and thank them for their continued investment in our community,” Logan Township Mayor Frank Minor said.
Delivery stations, Amazon said, power the last mile of the order process and speed up deliveries for customers. Packages are shipped to the delivery stations from nearby fulfillment and sortation centers, loaded into delivery vehicles and delivered to customers. The stations also provide entrepreneurs with the opportunity to build their own Amazon delivery businesses.
In celebration of the new station’s launch, Amazon said it donated smart TVs, video projects, laptops, sports and recreation equipment, and craft and cleaning supplies to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Gloucester County.
Since 2010, Amazon has created more than 34,000 jobs and investment more than $14.5 billion in New Jersey.
