EO Invites NJ’s student entrepreneurs to compete in Global Student Enterprise Awards (GSEA)

Winner to receive cash prize, business mentoring, and more.

The NJ chapter of Entrepreneurs’ Org is inviting NJ’s student entrepreneurs to participate in a competition where they can win cash and other services to help kickstart their business.

On Jan. 28, 2022, the EONJ will be hosting the local level of the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) – the annual global competition featured in the recent Disney+ documentary, Own the Room.

Entries are open now through Jan. 14, 2022, for students who founded and run a business, are enrolled in a university/college, and live or go to school in New Jersey. (See additional details at www.GSEA-NJ.com.)

The winner will receive $2,000, business mentoring and other resources, as well as the chance to represent the state in the US East Competition – and the Eastern US Champion will advance to the Global Competition in Spring 2022, along with students from 50 other countries.

GSEA is the premier awards program for students who own or operate a business while attending college/university. Unlike other pitch competitions, GSEA focuses on identifying students who exhibit the tenacious spirit of the entrepreneur.

Judges use a rubric to help determine which student has shown the strongest capacity to navigate the chaos of starting a business and the deepest drive to succeed all while completing a degree. The competition also recognizes special efforts towards Social Impact and Innovation.

Larry Prager, EONJ’s chair for GSEA NJ said, “This is a unique opportunity for student entrepreneurs to accelerate their entrepreneurial journey by connecting with successful entrepreneurs throughout New Jersey. Our contestants will be mentored by some of New Jersey’s leading entrepreneurs, and our winner will gain access to prizes and relationships that will jumpstart their entrepreneurial careers. Entrepreneurs see opportunity, and this opportunity is a no-brainer for any student entrepreneurs looking to make their mark on the world.”
