Leasing underway at the Hazel in Jersey City’s Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood

The new luxury rental building features 114 apartments and modern amenities

Leasing has officially kicked off at the Hazel, a new collection of 114 stylish residences and modern amenities in Jersey City’s historic and culturally rich Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood.

The new six-story building has opened with an onsite leasing office and furnished model homes, according to development partners Alpine Residential and Fields Grade, which tapped the Marketing Directors as exclusive marketing and leasing agent. The property will be managed by the developers’ affiliated management company, South Oxford Management.

Located at 89 Monitor St., the Hazel delivers a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments to a dynamic neighborhood setting that is easily accessible to Liberty State Park, Downtown Jersey City and Manhattan.

Homes are available at net-effective monthly rents starting at $2,290, with a limited-time grand opening incentive of up to one month free on select lease terms. Initial occupancy is scheduled for Feb. 15.

“This neighborhood continues to attract new residents who see it as an appealing alternative to the towering high-rises and congestion of Downtown Jersey City,” said Bill Rosato, managing partner of Alpine Residential. “Liberty State Park, with its more than 1,200 acres of public open space and a waterfront walkway, and Berry Lane Park offer a green oasis for relaxation, recreation and peace of mind, while an ever-growing list of places to eat, drink and shop bolster the area’s unique vibe. We’re excited to now introduce the Hazel to Bergen-Lafayette as a modern residential complement to the neighborhood’s charm, convenience and connectivity.”

Designed by Fogarty Finger Architecture, the Hazel features a distinctive façade comprised of gray and green brick punctuated by large floor-to-ceiling windows as a nod to the neighborhood’s industrial heritage.

Inside, the residences are outfitted with upscale finishes and appointments, including 9-foot-plus ceilings, luxury plank flooring, custom modular closets, complimentary window treatments, in-home washer and dryer and smart lock entry. Gourmet kitchens offer stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, soft-close cabinetry, full height backsplashes and under-cabinet lighting, while spa-like baths are lavishly appointed. Select residences offer a bonus den for added living space and flexibility.

Residents will appreciate the Hazel’s pet-friendly, smoke-free atmosphere, as well as its full suite of indoor and outdoor amenities, social spaces and premium services. These include an onsite concierge, rooftop terrace with barbecues and mist station, Sky Lounge with New York City views, outdoor courtyards, coworking space, library with fireplace, state-of-the-art fitness center, demonstration kitchen and an amenity guest suite.

An exciting new amenity added to the Hazel is TuLu, an on-demand smart rental store for high-quality household and lifestyle products. This will be available specifically to Hazel residents and will also come with some fun giveaways and perks for first-time users.

“The Hazel offers an elevated lifestyle experience for residents who recognize the authentic character and convenience of this burgeoning neighborhood,” said Jacqueline Urgo, president of the Marketing Directors. “We expect this new offering to quickly resonate with the public and become the signature address in Bergen-Lafayette.”
