Russo’s Vermella Broad Street in Newark reaches occupancy milestone (SLIDESHOW)

Occupancy is now underway at Vermella Broad Street in Newark, marking the next page of the 14th Vermella lifestyle property crafted by Russo Development.

The first 50 residents have moved into the new rental community, strategically positioned at 355 Broad St. — less than 500 feet from the New Jersey Transit Broad Street Station. Viewed as an anchor for the redevelopment of the neighborhood, Vermella presents a collection of 296 expansive apartments and 40,000 square feet of modern amenities and social spaces.

“With Vermella Broad Street, we’ve introduced the pillars of our Vermella lifestyle brand to Newark, including an exceptional array of thoughtful amenities and social spaces that sets a new standard in the city,” Adam Pasternack, president of Russo Property Management, said. “Simultaneously, we remain true to Newark’s vibrant heritage. The inclusion of street-level public gallery space, which will feature works of local artists and play host to diverse neighborhood creative events, reflects our dedication to community development and contributing to Newark’s rich cultural fabric.”

In line with its commitment to community engagement, Russo is providing residents with a Newark Gift Card as part of their move-in gift, tapping into an existing program designed to encourage local shopping and support the small business community.

Distinguished from the high-density, high-rise towers emerging in other parts of the city, Vermella Broad Street features twin five-story buildings spread over three acres seamlessly integrated into the existing streetscape. Residents can select from a mix of studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments. Designer interior features include 9-to-10-foot ceilings, Nu-Wud flooring, walk-in closets and large windows with custom treatments. Gourmet kitchens offer full-size stainless-steel appliances, quartz countertops and soft-close cabinetry, while spa-like baths add a touch of luxury. Select homes offer private outdoor balconies.

Vermella Broad Street redefines city living with an energized lifestyle cultivated by 40,000 square feet of next-level amenities. Extensive outdoor escapes are highlighted by a landscaped courtyard with a resort-style pool, barbecue areas, an amenitized rooftop deck with panoramic views of Newark and New York City, and a dog run. Indoors, residents can indulge in a clubroom with outdoor access, a top-floor resident lounge, a fully equipped fitness center with a dedicated yoga room, and coworking spaces. Each building is complemented by a welcoming lobby, secure garage parking, 24-hour gated security and access-controlled entry.

Residents will enjoy a walkable environment near Newark’s downtown and the campuses of New Jersey Institute of Technology and Rutgers University. Nearby are premier New Jersey cultural and entertainment venues, including the Newark Museum of Art and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, while the renowned Ironbound district, famous for its diverse and exceptional cuisines, is a short ride away.

Monthly rents for Vermella Broad Street’s residences start from the $1,900s. Limited-time incentives include up to two months of free rent.
