Construction milestone marks progress at luxury rental development in Westfield

A key construction milestone at Parkside at Westfield was hit earlier this month as the first building is under roof at the joint venture development of Raritan-based Premier Development and Garden Communities of Short Hills, according to a Tuesday announcement.

The Union County multifamily community will feature 162 luxury rental apartments in three, three-story elevator buildings, complemented by a full suite of lifestyle amenities.

Located at 524 Springfield Ave., on the site of a former garden center, Parkside at Westfield is on track for a late spring delivery.

“Parkside at Westfield residents will enjoy spacious residences and an array of amenities and services designed for today’s sophisticated renter,” Michael Kaplan, senior vice president of property management at Premier Development, said. “We are so pleased about the construction progress and thrilled with the enthusiasm this project is receiving as our vision comes to life.”

Designed by BlackBird Group Architects, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments range from 985 square feet to oversize, 1,944-square-foot floor plans. All include two bathrooms, a balcony, efficient heating and cooling, ample closets and luxury finishes and materials. Select floor plans feature a fireplace and many have a separate study/den.

Parkside at Westfield’s clubhouse — with a fitness center, yoga studio, library and lounge — will support an active lifestyle. Outdoor amenities will include a barbecue area, firepit, outdoor seating and a playground. Future residents also will benefit from underground parking and the convenience of an on-site leasing and maintenance team. Electric vehicle charging stations will support eco-friendly transportation.

Parkside at Westfield’s coveted address gives it a distinct market advantage. Westfield is regarded for its highly rated public schools, accessible public transportation options and vibrant downtown. The town recently earned a spot in 2023’s Niche.com ranking of “Best Places to Live in New Jersey.” Echo Lake and Nomahegan parks, extensive walking and bike paths, golf courses (including Echo Lake Country Club directly abutting the property), highways and the bustling towns of Cranford and Summit are all nearby.
