Recovery Centers of America partners with 2 local methadone clinics

Recovery Centers of America at Lighthouse and Raritan Bay, drug and alcohol addiction treatment facilities serving communities throughout New Jersey, recently announced partnerships with two local methadone clinics — ARS of Somers Point and South Amboy Health Center.

The partnerships enable patients to continue U.S. Food and Drug Administration-approved methadone medication for addiction treatment during inpatient stays at RCA.

The collaboration extends across both New Jersey locations at Lighthouse and Raritan Bay, broadening RCA’s ability to combat the opioid crisis plaguing communities statewide. The partnerships allow the facilities to accept inpatient-level patients already maintaining a methadone dosage from a provider.

“Our collaboration with these esteemed New Jersey methadone clinics, recognized for their innovative approaches to addiction treatment, strengthens RCA’s ability to provide comprehensive care for individuals battling substance use disorders in New Jersey,” Bobby Bunyon, interim CEO, RCA at Lighthouse, said. “Obtaining methadone for inpatient care in our state is challenging, and research shows that MAT is the safest and most effective treatment available to people suffering from opioid use order, which includes heroin and prescription painkillers.”

RCA patients who are eligible for take-home methadone treatment will enroll on a guest basis at the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities-accredited MAT clinic location closest to the respective RCA facility. The partner clinic will coordinate with a patient’s usual provider to ensure uninterrupted care. Patients will receive methadone supplies for administration during treatment at RCA. This integration ensures patients can focus on their detox and recovery journey without interruption.

“These partnerships are a direct response to the pressing need to serve the population requiring methadone maintenance within our community,” LeoDante Ognibene, CEO, RCA at Raritan Bay, said. “We recognize the limited options available and are dedicated to bridging this gap, thereby expanding access to quality addiction treatment services.”

The treatment is covered by most major providers, New Jersey Medicaid, Medicare, VA CCN, commercial insurance plans or self-pay.

RCA at Raritan Bay and Lighthouse’s caring teams of experts are focused on saving and improving the lives of those suffering from addiction to substances such as alcohol, heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, Xanax, methamphetamine, prescription drugs and others. No matter the form of one’s struggles with substance abuse, RCA provides the life skills needed to move forward, free from drugs and alcohol. The two New Jersey locations are an inclusive and safe treatment option to begin a patient’s journey to addiction recovery.
