Hawk Strategies, leader in transportation/infrastructure consulting, celebrates 5th anniversary

Boutique consulting shop, led by Attanasio, has become trusted staple in its industry

Five years ago, Anthony Attanasio had a vision for how he could fill a need — he imagined creating a firm that could serve as a facilitator between complicated government processes and those looking to design and build infrastructure.

That vision became Hawk Strategies, which is proving it can do all Attanasio had hoped and more.

With Attanasio as CEO, Hawk Strategies has become one of the state’s premier transportation and infrastructure consulting firms. He shared his thoughts during the 2024 NJ TransAction Conference & Expo this week in Atlantic City.

“Five years ago, I started with just two clients. Since then, Hawk has grown far beyond my original vision,” he said. “We now represent contractors, engineers, outdoor advertisers, the state’s largest university, paratransit service providers and many more.”

Attanasio said the efforts of Hawk Strategies Vice President John Case have made a big difference in the growth of the firm.

“What originally started as a way to help folks navigate the intricacies and processes of the Department of Transportation has expanded to a client list that includes some truly massive companies and projects in many more fields, including utilities, outdoor advertising, academia and many more,” he said.

The firm’s clients have been pleased.

Asphalt Paving Systems owner Bob Caoferri said he’s been thrilled by the partnership from Day One.

“As Hawk Strategies’ first client, I’ve enjoyed working with their team and seeing a business relationship grow into a friendship,” he said. “Looking back on five years in business together, I’m happy we chose to partner with such a promising young firm as the rewards far outweigh the investment.”

Martin Downs, president of J. Fletcher Creamer & Son, agreed.

“Hawk Strategies has become a trusted infrastructure consulting partner for Creamer,” he said. “Whether in agency interaction, relationship building or marketing, I value their partnership and congratulate Hawk Strategies on reaching this milestone in business.”

Hawk Strategies has forged valuable relationships and partnerships with like-minded firms that have increased the services available to their clients. The firm partnered with Paddock Capital Markets, a New York based financial services firm focused specifically on the mergers & acquisitions markets. Hawk Strategies provides expertise in the infrastructure markets to Paddock who offer a suite of services for succession planning for companies in the infrastructure sector.

Earlier this year, Hawk Strategies and Porzio Governmental Affairs announced a strategic partnership to assist clients with their transportation and infrastructure needs. Teaming one of New Jersey’s leading law firm’s lobbying arms with the state’s leading infrastructure consulting firm provides incredible benefit to both company’s clients. Attanasio said the partnership was the perfect way to kick off his firm’s fifth year.

In addition to its core infrastructure-focused consulting work, Hawk Strategies includes a full marketing arm. Art & Marketing Director Luke Richardson has built websites for the region’s leading pavement preservation contractor, among others, and produces both digital and printed marketing materials for a myriad of clients. In addition, the Hawk Strategies marketing team produces social media plans and content for several of the state’s leading infrastructure firms.

“I couldn’t be prouder of the team we built,” Attanasio said.
