RWJBarnabas Health names leaders to Central/Southern Region operations

Bill Arnold, president of the RWJBarnabas Health Southern Region and CEO for Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, recently announced the appointment of three executive leaders to the system’s Central/Southern Region operational management teams.

Patrick Delaney will assume the role of senior vice president and chief operating officer of RWJUH New Brunswick; Deirdre Blaus will serve as interim chief administrative officer for RWJUH Somerset; and Judy Lane has been named senior vice president of operations for RWJBarnabas Health Southern Region. All of these appointments are effective immediately.

Delaney has served as chief administrative officer at RWJUH Somerset since 2023. Prior, he served in several other roles at RWJUH Somerset, including chief operating officer, vice president of operations and administrative director of operations. In his new role at RWJUH New Brunswick, Delaney will be responsible for overall hospital operations, including the Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center, the Bristol-Meyers Squibb Children’s Hospital, perioperative services, transplant services, support services, plant operations and facilities, risk management and health equity, with respective leaders reporting directly to him.

Blaus has served as vice president of operations at RWJUH Somerset since 2023. Prior, she served in various leadership roles at RWJUH Somerset, including vice president of cancer services and business development, assistant vice president of cancer services and director of the Steeplechase Cancer Center. As interim chief administrative officer, Blaus will oversee all administrative and operational functions of the facility.

Lane has served as vice president of operations at RWJUH since 2020. Previously, Lane served in various clinical leadership positions including assistant vice president for clinical operations, director of neurology services, director of the Comprehensive Stroke Center and also served as a bedside nurse for more than a decade. In her new role, Lane will work closely with the Southern Region leadership cabinet, which includes hospital executive leaders, finance, strategy, business development, service line, medical group and medical staff office leaders, to enhance operational integration across Southern Region facilities. She will also support the ongoing Central Region integration work with RWJUH New Brunswick, Somerset and Hamilton facilities.
