Trump nominates Fiserv Chairman, President and CEO, Frank Bisignano as commissioner, Social Security Administration

Frank Bisignano, the chair and CEO of fintech giant Fiserv, has been nominated by President-elect Donald Trump to serve as the commissioner of Social Security Administration.

“Frank is a business leader, with a tremendous track record of transforming large corporations,” Trump wrote on his social media platform. “He will be responsible to deliver on the Agency’s commitment to the American People for generations to come!”

Bisignano appointment is subject to confirmation by the U.S. Senate. He will continue in his current positions with the company until confirmation occurs.

Fiserv is headquartered in Milwaukee, but the majority of its employees and leadership – including Bisignano – work out of its massive presence in Berkeley Heights.

Bisignano, a frequent honoree on ROI-NJ:Influencers lists, said he’s eager for the opportunity and grateful for the impact he has had at Fiserv, which has annual revenues approaching $20 billion and was ranked No. 215 on the 2024 Forbes 500.

“Serving as CEO of Fiserv is an honor and I am incredibly proud of what our team has and will accomplish,” he said. “I am honored to have this once in a lifetime opportunity to serve my country. I thank President-elect Trump and, if confirmed, look forward to applying my experience to transform our social security system.”

Fiserv Lead Director Doyle Simons said the company has a succession plan in place should Bisignano be confirmed. He thanked Bisignano for his efforts with the company.

“Under Frank, Fiserv has excelled in advancing finance, technology and payments innovations to the benefit of financial institutions, businesses and communities large and small,” he said. “Succession planning has always been a priority for the Board, and we will follow our well established succession planning process to select a new CEO to continue to build on this momentum.”

Fiserv is a global leader in payments and financial technology. The company helps clients achieve best-in-class results through a commitment to innovation and excellence in areas including account processing and digital banking solutions; card issuer processing and network services; payments; e-commerce; merchant acquiring and processing; and the Clover cloud-based point-of-sale and business management platform.
