A Good Score: Lasry to headline Hudson County Chamber’s 137th Annual Meeting & B2B Expo

Alex Lasry, newly appointed CEO of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ New York New Jersey Host Committee, will headline the Hudson County Chamber of Commerce’s 137th Annual Meeting and B2B Expo on Wednesday, March 12, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Westin Jersey City Newport.

Hudson Chamber President & CEO Emory Edwards announced the news, emphasizing the event’s significance.

“We’re thrilled to partner with the NY/NJ Host Committee to ensure this global event creates a lasting impact on our business and hospitality community,” Edwards said.

Lasry, former senior VP of the Milwaukee Bucks and a U.S. Department of Commerce official, will share exclusive updates on FIFA World Cup 2026™ preparations. With the final match set for July 19, 2026, at MetLife Stadium, he’ll dive into the projected $2 billion economic impact and 14,000+ jobs the event will generate.

New Jersey Lt. Governor Tahesha Way will deliver the keynote address, discussing the Murphy administration’s pro-business initiatives under the Chamber’s 2025 theme, “Path to Prosperity.”

The event kicks off at 11 a.m. with a dynamic B2B Expo, followed by lunch, the election of Directors, and the speaker program at noon. Open to the public, it brings together top executives, elected officials, business leaders, and influencers shaping Hudson County’s future.
