Thomas Edison State University introduces flat-rate tuition for graduate programs

Registration for the May term opens April 4 and runs through May 2

Thomas Edison State University (TESU) is making graduate education more accessible and affordable by introducing a new flat-rate tuition model for its master’s degree programs. Effective with the May 2025 term, students enrolling in TESU’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) or other graduate programs will have the opportunity to lock in a fixed tuition rate for the entire duration of their program, ensuring cost certainty and substantial savings.

Under this new tuition structure, the MBA program will be offered at a total cost of $24,000, reflecting a 15% savings compared to the standard per-credit pricing model. All other graduate programs will be available at a flat rate of $18,000, delivering 26% savings. The flat-rate program will exclude the Master of Science in Nursing, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program.

“TESU remains committed to breaking down barriers to higher education, and our new flat-rate tuition model ensures that students can plan for their financial future with confidence,” said Dr. Merodie A. Hancock, president of TESU. “By offering a predictable cost structure and significant savings, we are reaffirming our mission to provide flexible, high-quality education that meets the needs of today’s working professionals.”

Students interested in the flat-rate tuition model must opt in at the time of application. The program is for new graduate students only and spans two and a half years, during which students will be invoiced for the entire program cost upon acceptance. Payment options include a nine-month installment plan, full payment at the time of invoicing or federal financial aid.

The program costs include tuition and graduation audit fees only. Application fee, payment plan fee (if applicable) and late registration fee or course extension fees are not included. Eligibility requirements and exclusions will apply. Admitted students should work with an advisor to determine eligibility.

This initiative reinforces TESU’s leadership in providing innovative, student-focused tuition solutions that prioritize affordability, accessibility and academic excellence.
