Kean University: Climb Higher. Lead the Workforce of Tomorrow.

Climb Higher. Lead the Workforce of Tomorrow.

Kean University, New Jersey’s urban research university and a designated Carnegie R2 research institution, is committed to preparing students for the future of work through innovation, equity and hands-on learning. As an anchor institution in the state, Kean creates equitable employment pathways that serve both students and the communities they call home.

Workforce-Ready from Day One

Kean students gain real-world experience from day one. Through hands-on learning and research at more than 35 research centers, including the John S. Watson Institute for Urban Policy and Research, students tackle real problems with practical solutions that impact both their local communities and global systems.

With global programs like Travelearn and a full campus at Wenzhou-Kean University in China, Kean students develop a global mindset and cross-cultural communication skills that set them apart in today’s workforce.

Innovation at the Core

Kean is home to New Jersey’s only undergraduate major in Artificial Intelligence, placing students at the forefront of emerging technology. But AI is just the beginning. Data analytics and advanced tech skills are embedded across Kean’s six colleges, including the Dorothy and George Hennings College of Science, Mathematics and Technology and the College of Business and Public Management.

These programs foster innovation, critical thinking and adaptability—skills that employers require across industries.

Career-Ready Through Partnerships

Kean actively partners with employers to ensure its graduates are prepared for success. The Office of Career Services offers résumé workshops, mock interviews, career coaching and networking events to help students take the next step.

Through the KEANetwork, employees of partner organizations receive tuition discounts and access to Kean’s learning and clinical facilities to upskill or pursue degrees.

Kean’s high-profile collaborations with the New York Jets, Yankees, Red Bulls and New Jersey Devils offer students immersive, project-based courses in business, leadership and sports marketing. These experiences create pathways to internships and full-time employment opportunities.

Equity in Access. Excellence in Outcomes.

Kean is deeply committed to equity, access and working to ensure that students from all backgrounds succeed. The federally funded Child Care Access Means Parents In School (CCAMPIS) program offers free childcare to income-eligible student parents, helping them stay enrolled and graduate.

Recognized nationally for social mobility, Kean supports first-generation and low-income students through mentorship, experiential learning and academic credit for real-world experience—accelerating their path to graduation and career advancement.

A University That Elevates Communities

As a proud anchor institution in the state, innovation and public service go hand in hand at Kean. Students don’t just prepare for jobs, they prepare to lead, serve and shape the world around them.
