Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JBMDL) held its 24th annual 9/11 Memorial Service at Fire Station #4 located at Fort Dix.
Colonel Michael Stefanovic, JBMDL installation commander, paid tribute to all of those who responded to the crisis as he stood in front of a portion of World Trade Center wreckage.
“Heroes emerged from the rubble,” said Stefanovic. “They ran toward the danger, despite what they heard, despite what they saw, despite knowing what was going to happen.”
