The American Innovators Network (AIN) launched a New Jersey chapter Sept. 30 to elevate the voice of the start-up community and smaller tech builders in state policy conversations.
Carlos Iván Merino, an advocate for New Jersey’s innovation ecosystem and emerging technologies, has been named president of the state chapter.
“New Jersey is laying the groundwork to lead the nation in AI and next-generation technologies,” said Carlos Iván Merino, AIN Chapter president. “I’m energized by our momentum, and I look forward to ensuring our local start-up founders and developers have a voice in the policy process. We need to build an environment where innovation thrives – and the opportunities created by technology reach more people.”
Merino is a longtime advocate for New Jersey’s innovation economy. He also leads the New Jersey Innovation & Technology Alliance, which builds grassroots support for and strengthens public understanding of emerging technologies.
As chapter president, Merino will serve as the organization’s local spokesperson, lead educational events, mobilize grassroots supporters, connect innovators with policymakers, and highlight the AI-powered solutions founders are building right here in New Jersey.
Vanessa Day, executive director of the American Innovators Network, said, “‘Little Tech’ founders and developers deserve a seat at the table to advocate for policies that allow them to innovate and build. With Carlos at the helm, AIN’s New Jersey Chapter will make sure the Garden State’s start-ups aren’t left out of the conversation. By linking local entrepreneurs to a national network, we can collaborate, unite around common goals, and ensure early-stage companies have a fair chance to compete and grow.”
Entrepreneurs, enthusiasts, advocates, students, and nonprofit and community leaders are encouraged to join. AIN New Jersey Chapter members will receive updates about local events and advocacy opportunities.
