Grants totaling nearly $20,000 have been made by Kearny Bank – through its KearnyBank Foundation – to two New Jersey nonprofits that provide essential residential support for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Our House Foundation and Youth Consultation Services (YCS) have each received 2025 funding for projects designed to enhance the comfort and overall quality of life for those they serve.
Our House Foundation received a $10,000 grant for urgent renovations at its group home in Plainfield. The support from Kearny Bank will help address updates to the kitchen and flooring, essential exterior repairs and new furniture.
YCS received a $9,685 grant in support of its Pearl Street Forever Home, a residence for adult women with developmental disabilities, autism, and complex medical needs. The funding will help refresh shared living spaces, making the home more welcoming and increasing functionality. Upgrades include painting, new seating and décor, a dedicated table and activity area, and updated exercise equipment tailored to residents’ abilities, plus improvements to rooms used for therapy sessions and clinical visits.
“Youth Consultation Services and Our House Foundation provide crucial support to improve the daily lives of individuals with various disabilities,” says KearnyBank Foundation Executive Director Taryn Rockwell. “We’re grateful to be able to provide this support and are deeply committed to partnering with organizations that make a positive difference in communities where we conduct business.”
Since 2020, the KearnyBank Foundation has awarded more than $3.8 million in grants to nonprofits throughout the region, with emphasis on education, housing, community betterment, and quality-of-life initiatives.
