Elkis joins NJ Jewish Business Alliance’s board of directors

The New Jersey Jewish Business Alliance (NJJBA) in Cranford said Karin Elkis has joined its board of directors, adding that she brings extensive leadership experience, strategic insight and commitment to public service and community engagement.

Her appointment comes at a pivotal moment for the organization, as NJJBA also launches its Women’s Initiative aimed at elevating and connecting women leaders across New Jersey’s Jewish business community.

Elkis is a respected civic and business leader able to build strong partnerships and advance initiatives that strengthen both the Jewish community and New Jersey’s broader business ecosystem. Her appointment reflects NJJBA’s continued commitment to expanding its leadership with individuals who share the organization’s mission of supporting Jewish-owned businesses, encouraging collaboration and promoting economic vitality statewide.

Miles Berger, board chair of the New Jersey Jewish Business Alliance, said, “her professional expertise, public service experience, and dedication to community-building will be invaluable as we continue to grow our impact across New Jersey.”

As a board member, Elkis will support NJJBA’s strategic initiatives, member engagement efforts, and partnerships that advance business development and professional networking opportunities for its members.

“I am honored to join the Board of the New Jersey Jewish Business Alliance at such an important time for our business community,” said Elkis. “NJJBA plays a vital role in connecting leaders, fostering meaningful partnerships, and strengthening the economic and civic fabric of our state. I look forward to working alongside my fellow board members to support Jewish-owned businesses, expand opportunities for collaboration, and help drive continued growth and impact across New Jersey.

Elkis is senior vice president at business consultant Optimus Partners, where she plays a key role in driving strategic initiatives, advising clients, and supporting organizational growth. She also is co-chair of the New Jersey-Israel Commission, working to strengthen economic, cultural, and strategic ties between New Jersey and Israel.

Elkis previously served as vice chair of the Sherrill for Governor campaign and is a member of the Sherrill-Caldwell Transition Team.
