Suburban Propane Partners LP, a Whippany-based energy distributor, said it has expanded its partnership with NASCAR to support operations at 21 racetracks nationwide.
The company announced the expanded slate will include an upcoming NASCAR event at the U.S. Naval Base in Coronado, California, and a return to Chicagoland Speedway. Suburban Propane said it provides propane-related support that helps keep race weekends operating, including fueling track dryers used after inclement weather, supplying concession operations that serve fans, and supporting campgrounds tied to race events.
“The opportunity to support NASCAR at more than twenty tracks nationwide reflects both the strength of our partnership and the reliability that propane can bring to large-scale events,” Nandini Sankara, Suburban Propane’s vice president of marketing and brand strategy and spokesperson, said in a statement.
“From drying the track to fueling concessions and campgrounds, propane helps ensure that race weekends run safely, efficiently, and without interruption.”
Suburban Propane framed the expansion as an extension of its role in providing dependable energy for large, live events. The company said its behind-the-scenes work helps events stay on schedule when weather affects track conditions and supports core services used throughout a race weekend.
The Coronado event, Suburban Propane said, is tied to NASCAR’s participation in America’s 250th anniversary celebrations and will bring racing to a waterfront military installation. The company also cited the Chicagoland Speedway return as a continued opportunity to support race operations and fan engagement in that market.
