The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) will partner with Quarterhill Inc., a leading global provider of intelligent transportation system solutions, through its subsidiary International Road Dynamics, to provide maintenance and installation support for traffic-monitoring systems across the state.
The multiyear contract will support safe and reliable, data-driven transportation operations and long‑term infrastructure support statewide.
Under the partnership, Quarterhill will provide maintenance, inspection, repair, calibration and installation oversight for New Jersey’s network of Weigh-in-Motion (WIM) stations and Traffic Volume System (TVS) sites, helping ensure the reliable operation of traffic-monitoring infrastructure.
NJDOT currently operates approximately 95 WIM sites and 50 TVS sites statewide, which play an important role in traffic monitoring, freight mobility, transportation planning, roadway-safety initiatives and federal reporting requirements.
Services under the contract include:
- Maintenance and calibration of statewide traffic-monitoring systems
- Repairs and system upgrades to support reliable performance
- Support for traffic-data collection and reporting infrastructure
- Installation oversight for monitoring equipment and sensors
