Applegreen Electric appoints former Obama senior staffer as U.S. chief commercial officer

Applegreen Electric, a Glen Rock-based Blackstone company and leading global electric vehicle charging network, recently announced the appointment of Brandon Belford as chief commercial officer of the U.S. division.

Belford is an experienced executive with 20-plus years working at the intersection of transportation, energy infrastructure and emerging technologies. In his new role as CCO, Belford will lead Applegreen Electric’s public-private partnerships and U.S. growth strategy, building upon the teams’ success thus far in establishing universal public fast charging in nine states.

Prior to joining Applegreen Electric, Belford served as the chief of staff to the co-founder and CEO of Lyft and previously worked within Apple’s special projects group, held senior roles in President Barack Obama’s White House and departments of Transportation and Energy, and began his career on Wall Street.

Eugene Moore, group CEO of Applegreen Electric, remarked: “We are deeply committed to our customers in the United States and providing them with access to world-class fast charging. We are extremely excited to have someone of Brandon’s experience and ambition join Applegreen Electric. He will provide critical leadership as Applegreen seeks to establish relationships with strategic partners and policymakers.”
