Newport Jersey City partners with Envoy car-sharing service to give residents access to electric cars

Envoy, an electric vehicle-sharing platform has expanded into New Jersey and made Newport in Jersey City its first stop.

Representing Envoy’s first expansion into the Garden State, the sustainability-oriented collaboration with the waterfront community developed in partnership by the LeFrak Organization and Simon Property Group provides Newport residents with exclusive car-sharing benefits, including access to Envoy’s dedicated Tesla fleet located on-site in Newport.

“We all have to do what we can to protect our environment. This is why we at Newport are excited about this partnership,” Jeremy Farrell, managing director of development and community relations for LeFrak, said. “Through this partnership with Envoy, a market leader for sustainable vehicle sharing, Newport is yet again demonstrating its commitment to sustainability and the community.”

Envoy is a community-based electric car-sharing service that partners with residential developments, hotels and office buildings to provide users with convenient, affordable, zero-emission transportation at their fingertips.

Through Newport’s partnership with Envoy, Newport residents receive priority benefits to the car-sharing platform, including discounted hourly or daily bookings and exclusive access to two Teslas parked on-site in Newport.

Residents can book the cars seamlessly through Envoy’s app, alleviating the costs of car insurance and cleaning fees, as well as the responsibility of charging the vehicles.

”We are excited for Envoy’s entry into New Jersey and to collaborate with Newport to bring ‘Mobility as an Amenity’ services to this incredible waterfront community and allow residents and tenants to take advantage of more sustainable means of transportation, easily and conveniently,” Aric Ohana, CEO of Envoy, said. “As the car-sharing service market continues to gain popularity and grow around the U.S., we look forward to working alongside organizations such as LeFrak and Simon Property Group to advance the industry and provide a valuable service to communities everywhere.”
