McCarter & English adds Daniella Gordon as business litigation partner

Daniella Gordon has joined McCarter & English as a partner in the Business Litigation group. She joins McCarter’s Philadelphia office from Armstrong Teasdale, where she was a partner in the Litigation practice group and served as co-leader of the Construction Services practice area.

“We are thrilled that Daniella will be joining us, as she is an exceptionally talented and successful litigator,” Thomas Finn, chair of McCarter’s Business Litigation Practice, said. “Her strong litigation skills, strategic thinking and experience in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania will be instrumental as we expand our litigation practice in Philadelphia.”

Known for obtaining favorable results in high-stakes matters, Gordon has extensive experience representing clients in a range of industries, including health care, construction, technology and media. She has led investigations for multinational companies on complex issues including investor misrepresentation and compliance, and she has defended clients in cases involving alleged false claims, money laundering, public corruption, securities fraud and related enforcement actions.

In her commercial practice, Gordon regularly represents owners and contractors in construction-related matters involving scope-of-work disputes, construction defects and bid protests. She has also handled employment-related investigations and defense.

Gordon has first-chair trial experience in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York.

“I am thrilled to join McCarter & English as a member of its exceptional team of attorneys,” Gordon said. “During my 17 years of practice, I have always considered McCarter to be the gold standard in the legal profession. Not only are its lawyers top-notch, but the firm’s commitment to public service is a testament to its values. I am excited to join McCarter and to serve clients in the Philadelphia and New Jersey markets, and beyond.”

Gordon’s recent successes include obtaining a non-prosecution agreement for a large government contractor in an investigation involving alleged environmental crimes, securing dismissal of a complaint against a well-known media industry client after exposing spoliation by the opposing party, obtaining federal pretrial diversion on the eve of a trial involving an alleged Ponzi scheme, obtaining dismissal of a complaint for unfair commercial practices for her media industry client, defending an employment discrimination case at trial, defending a construction case at trial and prevailing in multiple bid protests involving public contracts.

Gordon is a frequent speaker on criminal and civil legal issues, including recent presentations to the New Jersey State Bar, the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey and the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Gordon earned her J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law – Camden and her B.A. from Connecticut College. Before entering private practice, she served as law clerk to the Hon. Robert Millenky, former presiding judge in the Civil Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Camden County, and interned for the Hon. Joseph Rodriguez in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
