Russo launches leasing at Vermella Broad Street in Newark

296 homes and premium lifestyle amenities near train station

Russo Development marks a significant milestone with the launch of leasing at Vermella Broad Street in Downtown Newark.

Located at 355 Broad Street, less than 500 feet from the city’s Broad Street NJ TRANSIT train station, the new community features 296 expansive apartments and 40,000 square feet of modern amenities and social spaces – including a highly-amenitized roof deck and resort-style swimming pool.

Vermella Broad Street debuts with a collection of studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments, with monthly rents starting from the $1,900s. Limited-time grand opening incentives include one month free on a 13-month lease. Initial occupancy is scheduled for thus month.

Expanding on the appeal of Russo’s celebrated Vermella communities that have elevated lifestyles in surrounding locations like Harrison, Union, Orange, and Kearny, Vermella Broad Street will embody the brand’s commitment to enriched living and drawing inspiration from each neighborhood setting. Taking its cues from the energy, diversity and dynamic culture of Newark, Vermella Broad Street creates both a residential urban oasis while also connecting residents to the spirit of Newark. This will be vividly showcased through the property’s street-level public gallery space which will regularly exhibit the works of local artists and play host to a rich tapestry of neighborhood creative events.

Edward Russo, chief executive officer of Russo Development, shared his enthusiasm for the company’s 14th Vermella community, saying, “We’re excited to be a part of the Newark community with a new, quality built but moderately priced residential option that will cater to the needs and aspirations of existing residents, Newark’s substantial employment base seeking the convenience of living near their workplace, and newcomers alike. We are proud to contribute to the city’s continued growth and appeal as a great place to work and live.”

Vermella Broad Street boasts twin five-story buildings seamlessly integrated within the existing streetscape. Each residence is adorned with designer interior features, including nine-to-ten-foot ceilings, Nu-Wud flooring, expansive walk-in closets, and large windows with custom window treatments. Gourmet kitchens are equipped with full-size stainless-steel appliances, quartz countertops, and soft-close cabinetry, while spa-like baths are lavishly appointed. Select homes offer private outdoor balconies.

Vermella Broad Street creates an exciting and social lifestyle with 40,000 square feet of resort-style amenities. Extensive outdoor spaces are highlighted by a landscaped courtyard with a sparkling resort-style pool, BBQ areas, an amenitized rooftop deck with panoramic views of Newark and New York City, and a dog run. Indoors, residents can enjoy a clubroom with outdoor access, a top-floor resident lounge, a fully equipped fitness center with a dedicated yoga room, and co-working spaces. Each building offers a welcoming lobby and secure garage parking along with 24-hour gated security and access-controlled entry.

“At Vermella Broad Street, we embraced the opportunity to create a hotel-style amenity package that truly sets us apart in this market,” Adam Pasternack, president of Russo Property Management said. “The community’s recreational and social spaces are thoughtfully spread throughout the property, offering residents plenty of room for a variety of leisure-time enjoyment, whether it’s unwinding in a tranquil courtyard, enjoying a swim, staying active in our fitness facilities, or simply taking in the city views. Our focus is on providing an unmatched living experience that serves the diverse interests and lifestyles of our residents. Our Vermella brand has truly become not just NJ’s premier apartment community, but a lifestyle.”

Vermella Broad Street is ideally located less than 500 feet from the NJ TRANSIT Broad Street Station, providing direct service to New York Penn Station in 30 minutes or less. It is well-connected to Route 21, Interstate 280, the New Jersey Turnpike, and the Garden State Parkway.

Residents will enjoy a walkable environment near Newark’s downtown and the campuses of New Jersey Institute of Technology and Rutgers University. Nearby are premier New Jersey cultural and entertainment venues, including the Newark Museum of Art and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, while the renowned Ironbound district, famous for its diverse and exceptional cuisines, is a short ride away.
