Assisted living community Terraces at Lawrence welcomes new executive director

The Terraces at Lawrence has named Samantha Meisner as its new executive director. Located at 1 Bishops Drive in Lawrence Twp., the Terraces is an assisted living option for Mercer County seniors, offering assisted living, memory care and respite care enhanced by resident-focused services and amenities.

Trained as a social worker, Meisner has devoted her career to working in assisted living, independent living and skilled nursing settings. Previously, she spent seven years at Oxford Enhanced Senior Living, a continuing retirement community in Langhorne, Pennsylvania.

Meisner believes that understanding what matters most to residents is critical to creating the best possible living experience.

“I’m Italian, and I love nothing more than getting to know people over a shared meal,” said the mother of four, who noted how much residents enjoy it when she brings her children along for visits. “In this age of computers and cell phones, people still thrive on personal interaction.”

Originally established by the Catholic Diocese of Trenton, an ownership change in 2022 ushered in a new chapter for the Terraces at Lawrence. With that transition, senior living consulting organization Marquis Health Consulting Services is empowering leadership by providing administrative and operational guidance and support.

“We are thrilled to welcome Samantha to her new role as executive director of this unique community,” Brandon Smeltzer, vice president of sales and marketing, senior living, for Marquis, said. “The Terraces at Lawrence has a long history of providing care and comfort, and she is committed to ensuring that the entire care team has the resources to ensure that each and every resident can embrace an enhanced quality of life in a warm, community-focused environment.”

Conveniently situated just off Route 295, the Terraces at Lawrence is part of the 40-acre Lawrence health care campus, which also includes skilled nursing care at the Meadows at Lawrence and Lawrence Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, as well as Lawrence Rehabilitation Hospital.
