Two portable sanitation companies have joined together.
Mr. John, a 53-year-old company based in Keasbey, has acquired Aparos Little John Inc.
The cost of Mr. John assuming all of Aparos’ assets, operations and customers was not disclosed.
The company now will have more than 300 employees and 4,300 active customers across New York and New Jersey.
“This was a natural synergy for Mr. John and Aparos Little John, uniting two similarly run, family-owned businesses with a strong and loyal customer base,” said Mr. John President Gary Weiner. “We’ve put our products at the top of the World Trade Center, 250 feet below Grand Central Terminal and at construction sites, festivals, weddings and more across the five boroughs, Long Island and New Jersey. We are confident that we have the inventory, team, and experience to be the only company our customers call as long as nature keeps calling.”
Founded in 1964, Mr. John provides temporary restroom and wastewater management services for construction sites, seasonal and long-term projects, as well as special events on Long Island and in New York City.
In 2001, Mr. John delivered and serviced more than 600 temporary restrooms during World Trade Center rescue and recovery operations. In 2012, Mr. John provided hundreds of portable restrooms and trailers for Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island families who had lost access to running water after Superstorm Sandy.
Aparos was founded in 1984 and serves Nassau and Suffolk counties as well as the five boroughs of New York City. Mr. John will continue to serve the Long Island market from its existing Lindenhurst location.
Lisa Aparo, daughter of owner and founder Angelo Aparo, will join Mr. John as integration specialist.
