CCM’s Center for Workforce Development receives $1M funding from Sherrill’s Community Project efforts

County College of Morris recently announced that U.S. Rep. Mikie Sherrill secured Community Project funding of $1 million in support of the college’s workforce development programs. The funding will bring CCM programs to the Dover community and will emphasize the health care, technology, engineering and manufacturing fields.

“CCM is grateful for this support and the impact it will have on individual lives within the local community of Dover,” CCM President Anthony Iacono said. “Rep. Sherrill has been a huge supporter of CCM and has shown her deep level of commitment to our mission of changing lives and strengthening communities.”

“The work that this college does to meet the workforce needs of Morris County and the state of New Jersey is critical,” Sherrill (D-11th Dist.) said. “With this Community Project funding, CCM will be able to bring the workforce development training to residents of Dover. I want to thank Dr. Iacono and the entire team at CCM for their work on behalf of the residents of Morris County and for submitting this project that will make our communities an even better place to live, work and learn.”

CCM’s Center for Workforce Development offers degrees, certificates and apprenticeship programs that lead to family-sustaining wages and provides employers with a pipeline of employees who are highly educated and skilled. Many of the certificate programs within the Center for Workforce Development can be completed in less than two months.

Certificate and certification programs are offered in popular fields ranging from computers/information technology/coding and data analytics and visualization, to health care and business training, to drone pilot certification and welding. Pay-as-you learn apprenticeships are offered in advanced manufacturing and to become a Certified Nurse Aide or pharmacy technician.
