RWJUH Foundation Golf Classic raises $605K to support breast cancer care

The RWJUH Foundation Golf Classic raised $604,750 at its New Brunswick event to support breast cancer care services at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital

RWJUH CEO Bill Arnold said it reinforced the system’s vision for ongoing care.

“We are deeply grateful for all of our sponsors’ generous support and everyone who turned out to make the event a tremendous success,” Arnold said. “Their commitment to our mission, along with that of all of our sponsors, helps us to provide exceptional breast cancer services to patients in our state and region. Funds raised by the outing will help us expand programs and offer the most advanced technology and fund research to deliver the best possible outcomes for patients facing this diagnosis.”

Chief Medical Officer Deborah Toppmeyer spoke about the importance of improving and innovating health care.

Rutgers Cancer Institute and RWJUH share a strong commitment to providing the highest-quality, personalized care to breast cancer patients through advanced treatments, research and clinical trials. We thank everyone who generously supported this year’s golf outing to help us achieve our mission,” she said.

The event diamond sponsor was AST and Jingoli-DCO Energy served as the presenting sponsor. Autoland, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, HudMed LLC, and Wm. Blanchard were titanium sponsors. Golf Classic co-Chairs Val Skinner, LPGA Tour golfer, and Nancy Coppola, registered oncology nurse, also chipped in to help the event.

RWJUH, together with Rutgers Cancer Institute, is New Jersey’s only national cancer institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and a leading cancer program according to U.S. News & World Report. It offers comprehensive breast health services, including mammograms, 3D mammograms, genetic testing, breast surgery by fellowship trained surgeons, clinical trials and sophisticated radiation therapy techniques such as proton therapy.
