LeFrak’s Bisby in Newport section of Jersey City offers abundant amenities with pickleball

Leasing has launched at Bisby, a new luxury rental offering within Jersey City’s vibrant Newport neighborhood developed by LeFrak. This launch comes on the heels of the developer’s signing of nearly 27,000 square feet of new retail space in the neighborhood, illustrating the continued commitment to placemaking in the master-planned community 40 years after its founding.

“Today’s renters are looking for spacious, light-filled homes complemented by curated amenities they’ll actually use,” Richard Wernick, managing director of residential leasing for LeFrak, said. “Bisby offers the most sought-after amenities — a pickleball court, abundant coworking space, content recording studio and more — all within a thriving community offering vibrant retail, green space and transportation seconds away. Bisby marks our newest residential building in Newport, and we look forward to welcoming our first residents this summer.”

Designed by New Jersey-based architecture firm Minno & Wasko, Bisby rises 34 stories and features 385 homes ranging from studios to four-bedroom penthouses. The interiors were designed by the New York studio of global architecture and design firm Woods Bagot.

Drawing inspiration from the concept of a beehive, the design approach seeks to mirror the bustling rhythm of contemporary life while embracing an elegant style to create a sense of community and belonging through a balance of home and workplace.

The spacious homes are designed to blend luxury with functionality, complete with oversized windows, spa-inspired bathrooms, open-plan kitchens with top-of-the-line appliances and quartz countertops, as well as seamlessly integrated smart-home features. Most residences feature walk-in closets, in-residence laundry and private balconies offering panoramic views of the waterfront and Manhattan skyline.

Krista Ninivaggi, principal at Woods Bagot and interior design lead, said: “Bisby was intentionally designed to cater to modern lifestyles, providing dedicated workspace separate from leisure areas. We prioritized amenities to support residents seeking work-life balance, including those with flexible work-from-home arrangements or entrepreneurial pursuits. Our ground-floor lobby has evolved into a dynamic coworking studio, reflecting the demand for alternative social workspaces and vital ‘third places.’ It’s poised to become a highly utilized amenity.”

In addition to well-appointed homes, Bisby offers a comprehensive amenities-forward lifestyle. Set against the backdrop of stunning city views, Bisby’s 33,000-square-foot rooftop combines relaxation, recreation and luxury. The sun-soaked space features a pickleball court, outdoor fitness space, dog run, sun deck, fire pit and outdoor kitchen with barbecue grills.

Inside, the two-level coworking center with two-story windows blends functionality and inspiration with space for collaborative brainstorming, quiet calls and daily tasks. Residents also enjoy access to a golf simulator, state-of-the-art fitness center, residents’ lounge with gaming area, dedicated content studio, dog spa, playroom and fully attended lobby, as well as bike storage and a parking garage with electric vehicle charging stations.

Newport represents a sought-after approach to urban living with its collection of high-quality residential developments, neighborhood-serving retail and plentiful outdoor amenities, all situated along the Hudson River waterfront.

Bisby is situated adjacent to Newport Green, the neighborhood’s 4-acre park, playground and sandy urban beach. The development is moments from the Hoboken PATH and New Jersey Transit stations, providing direct access to Manhattan.
