Garden Communities delivers signature apartment building at the Metropolitan in Springfield

The Metropolitan, a new, luxury mixed-use development in Springfield, is available to renters in conjunction with the launch of indoor and outdoor lifestyle amenities, according to a Wednesday announcement from developer Garden Communities.

Located at 92 Millburn Ave. on the former Saks Fifth Avenue store site, the Metropolitan features a total of 270 rental residences moments from New Jersey Transit’s Short Hills station. Its 223-apartment midrise building serves as the community’s focal point.

“The Metropolitan’s unsurpassed location and sophistication are setting a new standard for contemporary living,” Garden Communities’ Deborah Alexandre, new development leasing manager, said. “With the launch of our lavish amenities package, residents are taking full advantage of a lifestyle experience that fosters socialization, recreation and relaxation — right on the property — with all the benefits of its upscale neighborhood just outside their doors.”

A welcoming and elegant marble-walled lobby with coffee bar punctuates the Metropolitan’s apartment building. Highlights also include an entertainment lounge with a fireplace, billiards and game room; coworking pods; and a state-of-the-art fitness center and yoga room. Outside, residents are enjoying the 9-acre property’s landscaped grounds featuring a pocket park with seating; a patio and outdoor kitchen area with televisions, firepits and barbecues; and a heated pool with sundeck.

Expansive, light-filled one- and two-bedroom apartment layouts offer spacious closets, gourmet kitchens and in-suite washers and dryers. Select apartments offer a den, private balcony or patio. The Metropolitan offers an abundance of resident conveniences as well, including a daytime concierge, electric vehicle chargers, package lockers and resident storage and reserved garage parking. The Metropolitan also includes 47 two- and three-bedroom townhomes ranging from 2,608 to 3,187 square feet — each with a two-car private garage — around the property perimeter.

Additionally, the Metropolitan will incorporate approximately 5,000 square feet of retail space fronting on Millburn Avenue. Monthly rents at the Metropolitan begin at $2,810.

Located at the nexus of Millburn-Short Hills and Springfield, the Metropolitan is just minutes from the Mall at Short Hills, Paper Mill Playhouse and Baltusrol Golf Club. Nearby parks and recreational facilities, and ample shopping and dining along Millburn Avenue enhance the lifestyle at this residential community. A commuter’s dream, major thoroughfares — including Interstate 78 and routes 22 and 24 — all are nearby.
