Barnegat-based Walters, a developer, owner, and manager of income-restricted apartment communities, won four awards during the 2024 New Jersey Apartment Association’s (NJAA) Annual Garden State Awards gala.
Walters was also honored with the prestigious Management Company of the Year Award in the affordable housing category.
Judged by a panel of peers and industry experts from New Jersey and beyond, the achievement distinguishes Walters as one of the most exceptional property managers in the state. To even be considered for an award, nominees had to submit an application, photos, letters from residents and/or peers and other supporting documents.
“These awards affirm the hard work and dedication of our team,” Joe Del Duca, partner and director of affordable housing for Walters said. “Our entire staff plays a vital role in providing an exceptional living experience for residents.”
Walters was officially presented the awards on Nov. 6, at The Palace at Somerset Park, Somerset.
“With our incredible membership constantly raising the bar, the competition for a Garden State Award was tougher than ever before,” NJAA Executive Director and CEO David Brogan said. He continued, “In the face of new and evolving challenges in our industry, this outstanding group of highly professionalized property owners, property managers, developers, and vendors illustrate the very best our industry has to offer.”
In addition to Management Company of the Year, Walters captured awards in the following four categories:
- Maintenance Technician: Matt Krauchick
- Maintenance Supervisor: Joe Campanella
- Regional Manager: Rylie Smith
- Curb Appeal: Cornerstone at Branchburg, Cornerstone at Holmdel
The Garden State Awards are given by the New Jersey Apartment Association. NJAA’s membership owns and manages over 230,000 apartments, providing quality housing to over one million New Jerseyans.
