Element Harrison-Newark celebrates 10th anniversary

Element Harrison-Newark is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

Owners Ironstate Development Company and Pegasus Group say that since opening the 138-room extended-stay property in 2014, the community has played a pivotal role in the town’s transformation.

To mark the 10th anniversary Ironstate and Pegasus completed a multi-million-dollar renovation, and Marriott International President & CEO Anthony Capuano joined the owners in celebration of the renovation’s completion.

New Renovations Strengthen the Guest Experience

Key features of the recent upgrades include:

  • Redesigned Guest Rooms
  • Refined Meeting Spaces
  • Upgraded Amenities
  • The Station Bar & Bites

“When the property joined the Element brand in 2014, we recognized the potential for both the brand and Harrison,” Michael Barry, president of Ironstate Development Company said. Barry is also a principal of the hotel’s ownership group, Harrison Hotel 1, a joint venture of Ironstate Development and The Pegasus Group. “Over the past decade, Harrison has become one of the New York Metro region’s most successful redevelopment stories, and Element Harrison-Newark has grown alongside it, providing outstanding hospitality for business and leisure travelers while serving as a vibrant social and corporate hub for the community.”

Situated at 399 Somerset Street, Element Harrison-Newark offers prime access to:

  • Harrison PATH Station, Newark International Airport, Teterboro Airport, and Newark’s employment and cultural centers;
  • Popular venues like Sports Illustrated Stadium, the Prudential Center and NJPAC; and
  • Manhattan via PATH service, making it ideal for commuters, travelers, and corporate gatherings.

The Ironstate Development/Pegasus Group partnership has played a key role in the transformation of Harrison, largely completing the revitalization of 27 acres of underutilized property with mixed-use developments that include 2,250 modern residences, 80,000 square feet of retail space, the Element Harrison-Newark hotel, and a commuter parking garage – all located near the state-of-the-art Harrison PATH Station.

One of the 30+ extraordinary brands within Marriott Bonvoy, Marriott International’s award-winning travel program, Element Hotels offers travelers the many of the comforts of home, designed for those looking to stay both short and long-term.
