Lynda Markoe, executive vice president and chief people officer of RWJBarnabas Health, has been recognized on Becker’s Hospital Review’s list of 99 Hospital and Health System CHROs and Chief People Officers to Know.
The list honors executives who align human capital initiatives with their organizations’ values and business goals, fostering a thriving and engaged workforce.
Markoe was honored for leading the system’s “One HR” transformation initiative, aligning human resources with RWJBarnabas Health’s evolving organizational model. Since her appointment in February 2024, she has played a key role in fostering a culture of kindness, accountability, and workforce engagement at New Jersey’s largest academic health system.
With more than 30 years of HR leadership experience, Markoe previously guided workforce strategies at Bed Bath & Beyond, J. Crew, and Gap. Her experience in managing complex organizations through change has been instrumental in advancing RWJBarnabas Health’s strategic workforce goals.
