Hudson Regional Health names board leadership after official creation of health system

The new four-hospital Hudson Regional Health network — which comprises Hudson Regional Hospital in Secaucus, Bayonne Medical Center, Hoboken University Medical Center, and Christ Hospital in Jersey City — announced leadership appointments at a board of trustees meeting on June 1.

Dr. Nizar Kifaieh

Yan Moshe was named chairman and Dr. Nizar Kifaieh as president and CEO of CarePoint Health’s reorganized not-for-profit organization that governs Christ Hospital and Hoboken University Medical Center. Moshe and Kifaieh will continue in those posts at Hudson Regional Hospital, which also now owns Bayonne Medical Center.

Dr. Achintya Moulick

In addition, Moshe and Dr. Achintya Moulick, former CarePoint CEO and chairman, was appointed co-chairman of Hudson Health System, the management service organization that will operate the network as one integrated healthcare system, sharing leadership, infrastructure planning, and clinical standards.

Moshe, Kifaieh and Moulick provided critical resources and guidance that led to the successful integration of the three former CarePoint hospitals—Bayonne Medical Center, Hoboken University Medical Center, and Christ Hospital—into Hudson Regional Health system.

“This is a proud moment for all of us who have worked tirelessly to create a more unified, modern, and patient-focused healthcare system in Hudson County,” said Board Chairman  Moshe. “We now have the foundation, leadership, and vision in place to deliver on our commitment to elevate care in every corner of the region.”

Hudson Regional Health was formally established on May 22, following the court-approved implementation of CarePoint Health’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy plan. The system has more than 5,000 employees and over 1,500 affiliated physicians; the HRH network has already begun executing plans for expanded services, advanced technologies, and facility upgrades across Hudson County.
