New Jersey American Water announced that it is investing $4 million to upgrade water infrastructure in Burlington County. The company is replacing approximately 2.5 miles of aging cast-iron water mains in Delanco and Cinnaminson. Both systems, originally installed in the early 1900s, will be upgraded with new 8-inch ductile iron mains along the following streets:

- West Avenue
Cinnaminson
- Boxwood Lane
- Chestnut Lane
- Holly Lane
- Laurel Drive
- Lilac Lane
- Walnut Place
- Willow Drive
This investment will increase water flows for household consumption and fire protection in the communities serviced. These improvements are part of New Jersey American Water’s multimillion-dollar initiative to accelerate the renewal of water infrastructure that has reached the end of its useful life in more than 100 communities across the state.
New Jersey American Water’s local contractor, Pioneer Pipe Contractors, Inc., began work in Cinnaminson in mid-June and will start in Delanco in July. Work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and work is expected to be completed by the end of December 2025. Work outside of these hours is not expected unless required to maintain the project schedule, and final street restorations will take place by the end of 2025.
Project timelines are subject to change due to a variety of factors, including weather and availability of supplies.
For the public’s and workers’ safety, traffic restrictions and/or alternating traffic patterns are likely to occur during work hours. All emergency vehicles and local traffic will be allowed access during construction.
