Deborah Heart and Lung Center moved first patients to The Olsen Family Patient Care Pavilion

Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mills announced that the first patients have been moved into The Olsen Family Patient Care Pavilion, following licensure from the New Jersey Department of Health.

This addition features 36 private inpatient suites, including 18 dedicated to critical care and 18 to medical/surgical patients. The new pavilion enhances the hospital’s capacity to provide specialized care for patients with cardiac, pulmonary and vascular conditions.

“This moment marks the culmination of years of planning, collaboration and dedication to our shared mission of delivering world-class, people-centered care,” said Deborah President and CEO Jim Andrews. “These state-of-the-art rooms reflect our commitment to excellence while offering our patients a healing environment reflective of the high-quality, compassionate and innovative care our team has been delivering over the past 100 years.”

The completion of the pavilion is a key component of the Deborah100 initiative, a multiphase, over $100 million campus expansion project designed to enhance the hospital’s facilities and services. Phase II of the project, currently underway, includes the renovation of two existing patient floors with additional private inpatient suites, upgrades to medical technology and other innovative amenities.

“Our nurses and clinical teams are thrilled to care for patients in such a modern, thoughtfully designed space,” said Deborah Vice President of Patient Care Services Rita Zenna. “Everything about the pavilion was built with the patient experience in mind. From the enhanced privacy and expanded space to the advanced monitoring systems, this space supports our ability to deliver the highest level of care in a truly healing environment.”

Greg Olsen, who serves on the Deborah Hospital Foundation board of directors, was inspired by the care he received at Deborah and provided the lead gift for this project.
