Generational Group, a Dallas-based mergers and acquisitions advisory firm for privately held businesses, announced the sale of Maffey’s Security Group, one of Elizabeth’s oldest companies, to Guardian Fire Protection Services. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Based in Elizabeth, Maffey’s Security Group, recognized by the large key on the storefront on East Grand Street, is a family-owned security and locksmith company with more than 110 years of experience. Maffey’s Security specializes in electronic and mechanical security. Its electronic security services include CCTV, card access, intrusion alarm systems, intercom/paging systems and monitoring.
On the mechanical side, they provide master key system design, high-security key systems, door hardware, commercial safes, vehicle access control and full-service locksmith capabilities.
Based in Rockville, Md., Guardian Fire Protection Services is experienced in fire safety and security solutions, serving businesses across the Mid-Atlantic region. The company offers comprehensive services including system installation, inspections, testing, maintenance, and 24/7 emergency support — protecting thousands of facilities in industries like health care, education, hospitality and marine operations. The company was founded in 1979 and since then has made 11 acquisitions in New Jersey that include Maffey’s Security.
Generational Group Executive Managing Director, M&A, Eastern Region – David Fergusson, and his team led by Generational Affiliate, Dan Bernstein, with the support of Managing Director, M&A, Corey Painter successfully closed the deal. Executive Managing Director, Rick Buchoz and Senior M&A Advisor, Jerry Schram, established the initial relationship with Maffey’s Security Group.
