Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair is participating again in the American Dental Association’s Give Kids a Smile initiative, offering complimentary dental services for children ages 12 and under on Feb. 6 and Feb. 20.
The national program helps remove barriers to dental care while reinforcing the importance of oral health at an early age.
Dental decay remains one of the most common chronic conditions affecting children. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that more than four in 10 children in the U.S. have experienced cavities by kindergarten, which makes early screening, education and preventive care critical.
“This program gives us the opportunity to reach families who may otherwise delay or forgo dental visits,” said Aneta Wojcik, DDS, director of the Division of Dentistry at Mountainside Medical Center.
“Beyond treating immediate needs, we focus on educating parents and children on daily oral care and the importance of routine dental checkups.”
Free dental appointments will be provided through the Mountainside Dental Department, located at One Bay Avenue, third floor. Appointments are required, and families may call (973) 429-6887 to obtain additional information or reserve a time slot.
By participating in Give Kids a Smile, Mountainside Medical Center continues its commitment to community health, helping children establish positive dental habits that support long-term wellness and confident smiles.
