Students across New Jersey are invited to participate in the AI Hackathon on Jan. 24, a statewide event designed to give students hands-on experience building with artificial intelligence (AI).
They can attend in person at the Montgomery Innovation Hub, 23 Orchard Road in Skillman, or virtually from anywhere in the state.
The AI Hackathon is a student-centered innovation experience that encourages creative problem-solving, teamwork and real-world application of emerging technology. Students will explore how AI can be used to brainstorm novel ideas, analyze them and develop solutions that make an impact.
This inclusive event is open to all students who live in New Jersey and/or attend a New Jersey school or university, and welcomes a wide range of skill levels — from beginners exploring AI for the first time to advanced students ready to build and compete.
Participants will have the chance to ideate, collaborate, learn by doing and create AI-powered presentations in a supportive environment. Prizes will be awarded across multiple age groups, including:
- 7th–8th grade
- 9th–12th grade
- Undergraduate and graduate college/university students
By offering both in-person and online options, the AI Hackathon is designed to be accessible to students from every community across the state — making it easy for NJ students to join, participate and compete no matter where they live.
Sponsors include 1435 Capital, NetElixir, TiE NJ and Jersey Tech + Innovation. Supporters include Princeton Tech Meetup, Playbook to College, Startup Grind and others.
